Mr. DiPetto was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 2006.  Mission

The importance of effective DT&E planning, execution, and reporting is prescribed in public law. The Director, DT&E provides independent program risk assessments to the Milestone Decision Authority (MDA) based on the results of evaluations of Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs). The Director, DT&E is a collaborative partner with DOT&E and the Director, Test Resource Management Center, with authority to ensure acquisition decisions are supported with the right T&E information. The Director, DT&E also partners with OSD acquisition organizations and Component Acquisition Executives to ensure each acquisition program is supported by an appropriate DT&E strategy.
